Craig’s Record Factory:

A Young Entrepreneur’s Journey Through the 70’s and 80’s

A book to capture the voice of an era through the lens of a young man with a dream.

Craig’s Record Factory is a coming-of-age journey through the 70’s and 80’s. Readers follow the author’s steps from jukeboxes, GTO’s, and highschool hangouts to running the local record store at the height of rock-n-roll. The story dives into the early video rental industry, revealing the inside picture of operating seventy stores for the H-E-B supermarket chain.

Odanovich transitions into becoming an author with his steamy Black Widow Trainer adventure trilogy. (Be forewarned if you read the series — Craig grew up in the sexual revolution of the seventies.) Craig reflects, "after writing my trilogy I always said that if I wrote another book it would be more like The Old Man and the Sea. I didn't realize that the old man would be me."

Craig’s Record Factory weaves together reminiscences of a bygone era with entrepreneurial principles for today.

"I'm Taking What They Are Giving 'Cause I'm Working for a Living” — Huey Lewis and the News

Was I working for a living? Hardly! If God created the perfect job, it would be working at Craig’s Record Factory. I would sleep in until 9:00 AM, put on a t-shirt, slaps, and shorts, and let my hair freak fly. I’d listen to the latest music with my working friends on a concert-quality sound system while visiting with my customers.
